Can urgent air freight bridge the stock gap?

If German inventory may run out before your main shipment arrives, assess a smaller air shipment while the balance continues on its planned route. Feasibility depends on the time between cargo readiness and usable stock, plus cargo acceptance, clearance and receiving conditions. Flight time alone does not establish whether a stockout can be avoided.

This checklist is for Chinese exporters and cross-border sellers, and for importers buying in China for German warehouses. Separate the required delivery date from the date stock must be available to sell. Warehouse receiving or marketplace processing may follow signed delivery.

“General cargo” is not a complete product description, and total kilograms alone are insufficient. Record missing information before booking rather than treating unknown details as confirmed.

Build the plan around confirmable milestones

  1. Cargo and documents ready: when can the packed goods and proposed shipping documents be checked?
  2. Handover and departure: what are the planned flight, warehouse cut-off, space status and alternative if the cut-off is missed?
  3. Arrival and clearance: where is arrival planned, what documents remain outstanding, and who takes over after clearance?
  4. Delivery and receiving: confirm the postcode, appointment, unloading arrangements and acceptable receiving time.
  5. Stock availability: the customer or warehouse confirms processing and listing availability after receipt.

Ask for a written estimate stating its start and end events, calendar or working days, and unresolved conditions. If the target date leaves insufficient time for the handovers, reassess quantity, receiving location or replenishment timing. A previous shipment cannot establish feasibility for a new one.

All by air, or a smaller bridge shipment?

Start with the stock actually available today. List expected demand day by day, together with the quantities and dates of replenishment confirmed to become sellable stock. Identify when stock may run short, then assess which air-shipment quantity could be received and processed before that point. Test on-time main-shipment arrival, delayed arrival and higher demand as separate scenarios. Do not count unconfirmed arrival or stock-availability dates as certain supply.

Choose against the achievable delivery window, cargo acceptance and total cost, as well as the price per kilogram. If the main shipment date remains uncertain, or air delivery would still miss the stock deadline, first define a business outcome that can realistically be achieved.

One published shipment: what it establishes

The website records a July 2026 shipment from Shenzhen to Germany: 20 cartons / 280 kg of small-fan products, moved by air for urgent replenishment. The recorded result was 9 calendar days, counted from the day after handover through signed delivery in Germany. See the German emergency-replenishment case.

This is one shipment result, not a fixed nine-day service or an FBA stock-availability promise. The public case does not provide original transport documents or exact handover and delivery dates. It does not establish the flight, clearance duration, carton dimensions, chargeable weight or a repeatable result for other goods. Each new shipment needs its own assessment.

What the written assessment should confirm

Request cargo acceptance, covered service stages, charging basis, estimated delivery window and counting convention, quote validity, inclusions and exclusions, and outstanding conditions. Unconfirmed flights or appointments should be identified clearly. This guide is not a booking confirmation or delivery commitment.

FAQ

Before you book

Can you guarantee delivery to Germany in nine days?
The published result cannot support that guarantee. Its nine calendar days run from the day after handover through signed delivery in Germany, not FBA stock availability. Cargo, space, clearance, delivery and receiving conditions need a new assessment.
Is total weight enough to assess an urgent shipment?
No. Provide the product and its properties, carton count and dimensions and weights, cargo-ready date, delivery postcode, deadline and service scope so acceptance and charging assumptions can be checked.
Should my deadline be delivery or sellable stock?
Provide both if possible. Signed warehouse receipt and sellable stock are different milestones. The customer or warehouse must confirm processing and stock-availability arrangements.
Can a small batch travel by air while the rest continues by sea?
It can be assessed as an option. Check the stock gap, delivery windows for each batch, split-shipment conditions and total cost before deciding quantities and transport modes.
